The casino at a glance
Great Canadian Casino Vancouver is at 2080 United Boulevard, Coquitlam, BC V3K 6W3. The main phone line is 1-604-523-6888, and the official site is gcvancouver.com.
BCLC's casino listing shows the casino floor open 24/7. Separate table game hours and holiday hours are not published. Check the official site before a late-night or holiday visit.
The ownership is new this year. Effective May 5, 2026, the casino is owned by Petroglyph Development Group, a wholly owned corporation of Snuneymuxw First Nation. It is operated by Petroglyph's wholly owned entities. The sale was first announced in December 2025. The casino sits on Kwikwetlem First Nation territory.
The Great Canadian name and logos are used under a limited licence. The venue says it is no longer owned or operated by, or affiliated with, Great Canadian Entertainment. The official site now carries Lahal branding. Media and general inquiries go to inquiry@lahal.ca.
Older signs and maps may show an earlier name. The casino was Hard Rock Casino Vancouver until December 1, 2023.
Getting in
The casino is for adults only. You must be 19 or older to gamble at any BCLC facility in British Columbia.
Since June 26, 2023, BCLC has required government-issued photo ID from every guest entering a BC gaming facility, whatever their age. Bring the original document. Photos and copies are not accepted. Security scans the ID and checks it against the list of people barred from gambling facilities, including people enrolled in Game Break. BCLC says it stores no personal information for people who are allowed in.
Accepted ID includes:
- BC or North American driver's licence
- BC Identity Card (BCID) or BC Services Card
- Canadian or international passport
- Canadian citizenship card or permanent resident card
- Secure Certificate of Indian Status card
- Membership cards issued by First Nations, Métis or Inuit bands
- Government-issued foreign ID
The full list is on BCLC's casino FAQ. The venue does not publish a dress code. New to all this? Our first visit page walks through the door routine.
On the floor
BCLC's casino listing names these games:
- Slots, including Powerbucks, BC Gold and Dynamic Dollars
- Blackjack, including Kings Bounty, Double Deck, Free Bet and Low Limit
- Roulette, including American Roulette
- Baccarat, including Midi
- Electronic tables
- Poker, including Community Poker and Ultimate Texas Hold'em
- Horse racing
It is a large slot floor with a wide spread of tables. The venue does not publish its own machine or table counts, and other listings disagree, so we leave the numbers out.
There is also a poker room. Its hours, table count and game list differ from one listing to the next, and none of these figures come from the venue. Call the main line or check the official site before you plan around a particular game.
BCLC also lists a Gaming Lounge, complimentary coffee, meeting and event space, and a GameSense Info Centre. GameSense Advisors work on site and can help if you want to talk through limits or how a game works.
Eating and drinking
- Gordon Ramsay Burger: Canada's first, a burger restaurant and bar. The casino is currently promoting new hours, so check the official site for current times.
- Chopsticks Noodle House: soup, rice and noodles in the food court. Hours are posted on the venue's Find us page.
- Asylum: a casual American restaurant and bar. The Asylum Sound Stage hosts live music, comedy, burlesque and other acts, with bands most Friday and Saturday nights. Published hours differ between listings, so check the official site.
- Rock House Grill: BCLC's listing names an all-day grill for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We could not confirm it is still open.
Going to a concert or comedy night? The 1,100-seat Show Theatre has its own page: theatre nights.
Encore Rewards
The casino's loyalty program is Encore Rewards. It still appears on the property page after the May 2026 sale.
The venue's Show Theatre page says you sign up at Guest Services. That page dates from before the ownership change, so ask at Guest Services whether anything has changed.
As described before the sale, members earn points at BC casinos and on PlayNow. Members also get presale codes for Show Theatre tickets.
Before you go
- Parking is free, according to BCLC's listing. Ticketmaster also notes plenty of free parking on site.
- Transit: TransLink route 159 runs along United Boulevard between Braid Station and Coquitlam Central Station. Details are on getting there.
- Smoking: BC law bans smoking and vaping inside casinos, and within 6 metres of doorways, air intakes and open windows. Details are on the province's page. The venue does not publish its own outdoor policy.
- Cash: casinos verify ID when buy-ins or payouts reach $3,000 or more in a day. A cash buy-in of $10,000 or more in 24 hours needs a source-of-funds declaration.
- Accessibility: Ticketmaster lists 16 wheelchair and attendant spaces on the theatre's orchestra level. For other needs, call the main line ahead of your visit.
- Groups: the casino can host group reservations for up to 50 people, and the Show Theatre can be booked for private functions.
